〈ROKNTV 한국뉴스티브이〉 채정희 편집국장 By Chief Editor CHAE JEONG-HUI = World Taekwondo is deeply saddened by the passing of former Vice President Phillip Walter Coles who passed away on Jan. 28, by setting up a memorial altar at the federation's headquarters in Seoul.
Mr. Coles was dedicated to the advancement of Taekwondo and was a deeply respected and loved member of the World Taekwondo family. He served as World Taekwondo Vice President from 2008 before becoming Honorary Vice President from 2013 to 2017.
Mr. Coles’ love of sport was reflected in the numerous positions he held in international sport, including as an IOC Member from 1982 to 2012 and as an Honorary IOC Member from 2012.
Mr. Coles’ contribution to the development of Taekwondo and international sport will live on and he will not be forgotten.
World Taekwondo’s thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
